How much it costs to hire hackers on the Dark Web
The Dark Web houses a wide range of illegal and criminal products, services, and goods. Cybercrime is a broad category. You can hire a hacker to help you with everything from website hacking to DDoS attacks, custom malware, and changing school grades.
Comparitech analyzed more than 100 listings from 12 different hacking service providers to conduct their analysis. Paul Bischoff, the author of this post, said that prices are determined based on time, complexity, and risk. Comparitech still managed to determine the average price for many of these illegal services. Comparitech converted the bitcoin selling prices to U.S. Dollars for its report.
Personal attacks were the most costly item on the menu. These usually involved financial disruption or legal sabotage. The next most expensive service was to change school grades. Although hackers require payment upfront, some offer a refund if the hack fails.
Many hackers who are available for hire a phone hacker will only accept jobs if they feel they can do it. Comparitech found that one group even stated on its website, "In approximately 5-7% of cases hacking is impossible." While most hackers can complete the work in 24 hours, more complex hacks may take several days or weeks.
Personal attacks
Personal attack hackers charge $551 an average. Personal attacks can include financial sabotage and legal trouble. Hackers may use the tactic of framing the victim as a child pornographer buyer. Some hackers offer services such as fraud tracking or scammer revenge, where they will attack the scammer.
Changing grades
Students who wish to get a better grade can pay $526 per hour to hack into schools and change their grades. This is a popular hacking service that can be used for universities and grade schools. It's also one of most expensive. Some hackers claim they can also steal answers to future exams.
Website hacking
Hacking websites costs an average of $394. This includes attacks on websites and other online services. Comparitech cited one group that claimed it could gain access to a website's underlying web server. Another group claimed it could access administrative credentials and databases.
Hacking of phones and computers
On average, a computer or phone hacking service costs $343 This type of attack involves hacking into the victim's phone or PC to steal data and/or deploy malware. They claim that they can access Windows and macOS, Linux, Android, iOS or Windows Phone.
Social media account hacking
Hacking into social media accounts costs an average of $230 This service allows hackers to spy on and hijack accounts on platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook or Reddit. The service determines the level of malicious activity. Hackers who hack into victim's Facebook and Twitter accounts will often steal credentials that allow the buyer full access. WhatsApp users can tap into accounts to spy on messages and take screenshots.
DDoS attacks
Distributed Denial of Service attacks are typically charged at $26 an hour by hackers, but prices can vary depending on the length and bandwidth. Some hackers charge per hour, or even per month to keep an attack running for as long as the buyer desires.
Comparitech stated that it has found niche services in addition to the mainstream priced services.
